Ahoy! Welcome to Olympia Harbor Days! If you are a tugboat enthusiast, a history buff, an arts & crafts lover, or simply someone in search of lots of fun, mark your calendar for Labor Day weekend: September 2 -4, 2016, Friday 5pm-8pm, Saturday 10am-7pm, Sunday 10am-6pm. Olympia Harbor Days (OHD) is an annual festival celebrating the return of the tugboats to Olympia for three days of entertainment, food, art, history, and a last farewell to summer. Vintage tugboats, retired or working, are moored at Olympia’s Percival Landing. Tour the tugs on Saturday but be on hand Sunday as the tugs leave shore at noon to participate in the Annual Olympia Harbor Days Tugboat Races in the deep channel of the bay near Butler Cover. (Click on the Tugboat tab to see the 2016 line-up!) Come celebratethe 43rd year of tugboat fun with hundreds of arts, crafts & community booths, entertainment, live music food, and more! Saturday is Kids Day!
Keep the tugs coming to Olympia! OHD is the last remaining festival in WA that hosts tugboat tours and races. Please be sure to make a donation in the yellow boxes on the boardwalk to keep this tradition alive for years to come. Olympia Harbor Days is a non-profit event presented by the Olympia Kiwanis Club. Annual Tugboat Show and Races!
Come aboard! Tugboat show & tours on Saturday. Tugs races on Sunday! Watch from Percival Landing as they process out to the deep channel of Budd Bay. Sorry, no tugboat rides, but read on!
Harbor Tours and Race Viewing Cruise aboard My Girl!
Get your $15 tickets now for one of three 1-hour narrated harbor tours offered Saturday.
A $40 ticket on Sunday gets you a front row seat for 3 hours to watch the races and includes lunch.
Local maritime historian Les Eldridge will be aboard telling tales and commenting on the races.

Free Port Tours on Saturday, September 3
Climb aboard a locomotive brought in by Olympia & Belmore Railroad, Inc. See how logs are loaded onto ships bound for Japan, China and Korea. Hear maritime stories told by Olympia’s longshoremen from ILWU #47, representatives from local forestry businesses, and Port of Olympia’s international maritime terminal staff. Join them for a tour of your working waterfront! Meet from 10AM to 3PM on Saturday, September 3rd, at the Port of Olympia Booth on the northwest corner of the Port Plaza, just north of Percival Landing on Budd Inlet in downtown Olympia. Tours begin every hour, on the hour.

Come watch SUP’ers from around the sound race a 6K and 3K competition starting at Port Plaza at 10AM Saturday. Come watch Olympia’s amazing and and high flying performers as they dance in the air on hoops, ropes or trapeze. Three 5-minute shows both Saturday and Sunday at Percival Landing.

Look for the activity booths of both the Hands on Children’s Museum and the
South Sound Estuary Association. And go for a ride on the Giant Purple Slide!
The Olympia Timberland Library will be reading maritime and marine themed stories! Kids – be sure to bring your listening ears, a towel or blanket to sit on and sunscreen!
The South Sound Reading Foundation is giving away free books for kids! Make a donation by bringing your gently used books to them.
Port of Olympia Tours, Trains & Boats!
On Saturday the gates of the port will be open for touring. Also climb aboard the Olympia and Belmore Railroad locomotive. On Sunday, watch the water show by the port’s fire boat.
NEW for 2016! Harbor Days Summer Ale!
This year for the first time, Fish Brewing Co. will be brewing up something special just for the festival. Introducing Harbor Days Summer Ale – a clean, refreshing summer ale with a large hop presence. This beer is light, aromatic, citrusy and resiny. Light golden color, made with mosaic and Amarillo hops. 4% ABV and 30 IBUs. You can purchase a pint or two at Oly Taproom and other participating establishments in Olympia while supplies last.
Arts & Crafts Show 2016!
As tradition, Olympia Harbor Days will have another amazing arts & crafts show! Many of your favorite artisans from the Pacific Northwest are returning with new work. Find many new craftsman, some who reside right here in Olympia!! Come do your holiday shopping early or buy something for yourself!
WWII Coast Guard Cutter, Tug Comanche
Captain and crew will be on hand in a booth, sans tug as she has had a mechanical breakdown.
WWII veteran George Mills will also be at the booth to talk and meet people.
The booth will host a display “George’s War”, a display of his life in WWII.
Sadly, Comanche will not be making it to the festival due to a mechanical breakdown.
2016 Food, Music and More Fun!
Lucky Eagle Casino is back again smoking the most wonderful Cedar plank Alder smoked salmon in the universe!! Of course you can get your fill of traditional carnival food, kettle corn, shaved ice, and
Kiwanis Hot Dogs, strawberry shortcake and fresh squeezed lemonade.
Our new coffee/smoothie/Italian soda truck, Pony Espresso, will be there as well.
